Description

Wesserling Park – Textile Museum is a major cultural and tourism entity in Alsace.
It is situated in Thur Valley, at the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park.

Historically situated in the valley, it bears testimony to a remarkable period of textile production in the late 19th century. Indeed, it was an official “Royal Factory” specialising in textiles, using the wood block printing technique, also known as indienne. The factory supplied the royal court with these printed fabrics. Only two textile factories in France had this designation. Today, Wesserling Park’s unique identity is shaped by its gardens, rich industrial heritage and textile museum.

Wesserling Park is a place that is conducive to relaxation and artistic creation. It features 5 gardens and was awarded the “Remarkable Gardens” designation in 2005.
Around fifteen events are held at the Park throughout the year. Companies, creators, shop owners and artists have come here to create a major area of activity. It’s a real-life textile city, where refurbished buildings, and buildings that are yet to be refurbished, paint a vivid picture of the remarkable history of textiles in Alsace.
