Description

A living museum at the heart of the City!
The Botanical Gardens of the University of Strasbourg was built in 1619. The current location in Neustadt dates from 1884.
With over 5,500 species, the collections are spread out across 3.5 hectares and include a botany school, an arboretum, a plot of plants useful to humans, a rock garden, ecological plots, a pond, and a series of greenhouses (tropical, cold, succulents) where visitors can discover the infinite richness of the plant world.
The Anton de Bary greenhouse, a listed historical monument, has been closed to the public since 2011 but is currently seeking patronage for its restoration.
