Situated above Saverne, about 4km from the centre, towards the pass over the Vosges mountains, come and discover the Botanical Garden, in its pretty setting of forests and greenery, with a magnificent view of the plain of Alsace.
Two kilometres of trails wind down the hillside, enabling you to admire some 2,200 species of plants, especially wild orchids, for which the Botanical Garden is renowned. The Garden also houses more than a hundred species of ferns. Its characteristic layout and location give it the charm and specificity of a mountain garden. It was created in 1931 by Emile Walter (1873-1953), botanist and pharmacist in Saverne.
