Description

Lisa and Hans, painters, fell in love with this beautiful blue half-timbered farmhouse built in 1787.
Their studio is over the conservatory, and their gallery is in the old hay loft. Other buildings include the barn, the cow house, the little pigsty with its beaver tail roof and the stables. Climbing roses, blue clematis, hydrangeas, Arum lilies, daylilies, autumn anemones, crape myrtle and many other plants bloom here: daisies, delphiniums, peonies, lilies, daylilies, irises, and in the spring, countless snowdrops, daffodils and tulips.
A tambourine player in stone shows the way to the gazebo and the rose garden, where some 500 roses thrive in rose beds edged with granite stones.
Poems are written on old school boards, and numerous period pieces, collected from antique shops and flea markets, bring old-world charm to this “Grandmother’s Garden”.
