Description

At the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile lies the Domaine de la Léonardsau, owned by the City of Obernai. The listed park is an eight-hectare green oasis that harmoniously surrounds the recently restored, also listed, château.
Designed in the early 20th century by Baron Albert de Dietrich, the park was entrusted to landscape architects Édouard André (1840–1911) and Jules Buyssens (1872–1958). Together, they conceived a "composite" style garden based on several themes, from the French parterre to the alpine stream. A dialogue is established between the château and its park, planted with a variety of tree species, and which the baron adorned with sculptures and furnishings, like an outdoor collection that he delighted in evolving over time. It's an ideal setting for family walks year-round, where everyone can stroll, admire the views of the château, and enjoy the tranquility of the place.
